Chris has been a registered physiotherapist since 2000. He graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (1998) and a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) (2000). He has post-graduate training for lower back pain (Part A McKenzie) and for acupuncture (Level 1 AFCI). Chris has practiced in a clinical setting for most of his 10 years dealing with a large variety of orthopedic injuries ranging from acute injuries to post-surgical rehabilitation to chronic/recurrent injuries. Chris utilizes hands-on treatment together with education and exercise prescription as part of the rehabilitation process. He believes strongly in active therapy in which patients/clients participate in setting goals and take responsibility for their part in the treatment process (i.e. completing prescribed exercises). Chris has always been very active playing a variety of sports including baseball, volleyball, basketball and, more recently mountain biking. He also spent many years working out in a conventional gym setting before discovering a passion for CrossFit. He was part of the CrossFit Altitude team that went to California for the World CrossFit games in 2011. As a competitive CrossFitter he knows exactly what it takes to work through an injury and can help you recover, prevent and sustain your fitness regardless of what your issue is.
Massage therapy is offered at CrossFit Altitude by Joseph Wilson, RMT. Fondly known as the “muscle whisperer” Joseph has helped hundreds of people feel better, deal with injuries and just relax with his healing hands.

Here is a bit about Joseph...
Joseph Wilson came to the world of personal training and therapy via a formal education in theatre (BFA Theatre, York University; School of Physical Theatre Professional Performers Program), followed by over six years of daily martial arts training in Japan (1st degree black belt Aikido; 3rd degree black belt Aikijujutsu & Kenjutsu).
While pursuing his massage and sports injury training, Joseph enlisted with the Canadian Forces as a reservist with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry. It was here that he was first exposed to CrossFit, which he has pursued with a passion ever since.
Joseph views pain as a gift, and injuries as an opportunity to improve form, technique and/or body alignment and composition. He blends hands-on, deep tissue massage therapy with movement education and rehabilitative exercise.
Joseph brings to his practice experience working with both his own injuries and those of high-level athletes of all varieties.
We are happy to offer the nutrition counselling services of Jennifer Morris, MSc and BSc in Food and Nutritional Sciences, for those clients who require a more directed and structured approach to nutrition. While many people find general advice sufficient, some people require a more hands on program to achieve their desired results. The following document is a great resource for anyone wishing to embark upon the lifelong journey to ultimate fitness.
Initial consultation (30 minutes): $25
One month customized nutrition program: $150
Follow up consultations: $50 per session or block of 5 for $200.
We recommend you read the following information on "what to eat" as a start so you understand our approach to nutrition.
Many people feel the need for a more personal, customized training program. We are happy to help you with this. We offer personal training for those wishing to get started with CrossFit where we can take you through the Fundamentals of CrossFit to allow you to then integrate into our regular WOD classes. Or you may feel that you want to carry on with personal training for longer before starting classes. Generally speaking, it is not our intention to “sell you personal training” and the goal is to have you eventually work out with the group in the WOD classes. However, we do understand that sometimes for personal, scheduling or other reasons personal training may be the best option for you.
All of our CrossFit Trainers are available for one-on-one personal training or for small group private sessions outside of regular CrossFit class times. Rates are up to the individual trainer. Please e-mail us at crossfitaltitude@gmail.com for more information.
